Opera

It is free web browser that is available for all Windows, Mac and Linux. It is the second oldest browser that is still in use (Lynx was the first oldest browser but it was text only browser). It is not only a browser but it also offers sending and receiving e-mail messages, managing contacts, chatting, downloading files through torrent and reading web feeds. Opera almost handles common Internet related tasks…….

The browser is very interesting. It supports (like any browser) tabbed browsing, integrated search, bookmarking, keyboard shortcuts, private browsing, download manager, password manager, speed dial, drag and drop for links, proxy settings independent of Windows (not like Chrome), a tab grouping mechanism similar in function to that firstly introduced in Firefox 4 … etc. the program is also supported with many add-ons that make it a wonderful browser; themes to customize its look to suite your taste and widgets to offer more functionality to the browser.

The programs also has a lot of configurations that concern every single detail on how the browser acts, some people find this annoying but it is very useful tool to customize the browser actions during browsing. It has also integrated mail client. It's a reasonable alternative to Outlook express or thunderbird, offering many similar features. Opera also introduce a new function that is not available in any browser. It is Opera Turbo which you can enable it on weak web access networks. You can load web pages faster than other browsers. When Opera Turbo is enabled, web pages are compressed when passed through Opera's servers so you can load them faster and don't worry about privacy, even while using Opera Turbo, secured connections do not go through Opera's servers.

Finally, the browser is light (doesn't consume much memory), fast in starting and loading web pages. The interface is simple and you can customize it the way you like. Overall the browser is powerful and there are many people that can't browse the web without it. The browser supports almost all languages.
